Next, drill a 3/16" hole through a 5/16 square bar, about 7/16 or 1/2-inch from the end. These bars are available at Lowes or Home Depot for about two dollars. They are sold as "key stock" in 12-inch lengths. (See how the "flats" on the locking nut are oriented? I got a little close to the spring J )

The hole in the bar is slipped over the stud, but the end of the bar hits the trigger. Ý Ý Ý

Grind or file the end of the bar as shown. With the trigger held LIGHTLY against the spring, test the fit of the bar and trigger. (See my dirty finger LIGHTLY pushing the trigger against the spring?) As shown, the bar needs some more work.

A little more filing/grinding/testing, and we get to this. Notice that the bar and stud are at right angles (finger LIGHTLY against the trigger); and if you project (in your eye) the bottom of the bar, it passes through the trigger pin; and that the end of the bar lies against the metal of the trigger; and the stud is centered in the hole? Just right!

It should look like this. Ý Ý
