This rifle had a cock-on-open conversion kit installed. It was/is a Dayton-Traister GMS which also decreases lock time.

The kit consists a new spring, trigger, and cocking piece. The new cocking piece is slotted mid-way for the safety. It is designed for the military safety, and works with the PMS safety as well. However it did require a lot of grinding with a Dremel wheel before the PMS safety would function.
