The chuck is from Wholesale Toll, their P/N 1835-0090, at $4.95, with key. The chuck has a capacity of 1/4-inch and fits a 3/8x24 (fine thread) right hand thread. The ball has a 3/8 coarse thread brass insert. The threaded rod is a "3/8 SAE Stud". An SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) stud has fine threads on one end and slightly oversize coarse threads on the other. The oversize threads are designed to fit tightly into an engine block. These studs can be had at any well stocked auto repair parts store.
