The Range Will Re-Open
The range is open to members of the League. 11 (soon more!!)positions are available with firing points at 200, 300, 600 and 1000 yards.
Regular - (numbered) matches are 88 round (80 for score) High Power format (Offhand, slow, 200 yd; Sitting, rapid, 200 yd; Prone, rapid, 300 yd; Prone, slow, 600 yd. These are NRA High Power Rules matches. Rifles must be either Service Rifles or Match Rifles. If you have never fired in this style match, I strongly recommend that you talk to someone who has before you compete.
F-Class Matches - These matches are the best ones for new shooters. Check out the link.
1000 Yard Matches - consist of two 20 round matches, each with a 30 min. time limit, with unlimited sighting shots fired during the 30 min. One match is fired using ANY sight; the other is fired using IRON sights. Both matches are fired prone WITHOUT any artificial support for the rifle. NOTE!!!!!! The range capacity is 44 shooters and IF the range is not filled, F-Class shooting is permitted.
ALL MATCHES: New shooters are always welcome. Match fee (except for state championships) is $15 or $20; some matches will have cash prizes. League membership is required (@$25/year). You can shoot one match with-out joining the League. This range is equipped with target pits and because of the distances involved, shooters WILL be required to "pull" and score targets. (pit duty) as "in the pits". That’s OK, because someone will be doing this for you. How to get to the range:
From I-80 - Exit I-80 South at Milesburg, continue on US220/I-99 to Tyrone. At Tyrone take Rt.453 West to Rt. 253. Turn South onto Rt. 253 to town of Allmans. At crossroads in center of town turn West (Right) toward Beccarria, travel 1000 yds. turn Left on to Wipper Rd. (Large white Church on Right). Stay on Wipper, 1.1 miles, range road is on Right at sign and gate.
From Rt. 22 from West PA - Turn North onto Rt. 53 at town of Cresson, follow Rt. 53 to town of Van Ormer, turn Right on to Rt. 253 to Allmans. At crossroads in center of town turn West (Left) toward Beccarria, travel 1000 ids., turn Left on to Wipper Rd. (Large white Church on Right). Stay on Wipper, 1.1 miles, range road is on Right at sign and gate.
From Rt. 22 from East PA - Turn North onto Rt.220/I-99 at Hollidaysburg, exit Rt. 220/I-99 at Bellwood. At Bellwood follow Rt. 865 to Glasgow and turn right onto Rt. 253. Proceed to Allmans. At crossroads in center of town turn West (Left) toward Beccarria, travel 1000 yds, turn Left on to Wipper Rd. (Large white Church on Right). Stay on Wipper, 1.1 miles, range road is on right at sign and gate.

For good Food, evenings, check out the
Triangle Inn, in Janesville. From the range, follow the signs toward Houtzdale, the Inn is at the intersection of Rts. 253, 453 and 729, on the corner. The Inn opens at 4 PM and although a Bar, wives and children should be very comfortable.Use this link to view selected 2002 Match Scores and Photos
