F-Class Match No. ONE - 2003
Western PA 30 Cal. League

The first 600-yard F-Class Match of 2003 attracted 8 shooters, seven of then new to the F-Class Matches at Reade (but not new to long range shooting!!). The weather was cool, dank, misty, a little rain but no wind.
First, THE BOSS; this is my wife, Sandra. She ran the line, signed up the shooters, and squared away the finances.)
Here she is, radio in one hand and time clock in the other.

OK some pictures:
Above is the Relay #1 line-up, Bud Vermeire, nearest, with his stainless SAKO in 6.5x55, then Jamie Boatman, seated is THE RANGE OFFICER, then Bill Bierbower, and barely visible, Steve Uhall.
Since Steve Uhall wasn't visible in the Relay #1 photo, here he is in close-up. Must be some candy in that pocket!
And above is Relay #2, with Mike Rodich, then Martin McDowwell, Tim Sherry (in orange) and way out there, Ben Irvin.
Here is Ben, with his Tikka in 308 Win, the only rifle in the match fitted with Iron Sights.

Of some interest is the fact that only three shooters were using a front rest (and of those three, two were using a borrowed rest), while all the others are using bi-pods.
