The bright areas of the mount were tinned with silver solder.Ý Ý Ý

So were the bright areas of the receiver and both sides of the shim. Then the base and shim were fitted to the receiver, the receiver heated with a propane torch, and the screws tightened, some more heating and tightening, and everything was OK.

The action was placed in the stock and a scope fitted. Using a borrowed bolt, the windage was adjusted using the socket-head set screws on the sides of the lower halves of the rings. (The scope was set to the middle of its' windage range by going all the way right, then all the way left while counting the "clicks", then going right HALF of the total clicks)

The scope was removed, rifle disassembled, and made ready for blasting.

The rings were assembled with spacers between the halves and the barrel was marked. Ý Ý Ý
